Edwards is declaring for the draft, but will also leave the door open for a potential return to the NCAA. If he returns, he will have one year of eligibility remaining.

In his four years at James Madison, he averaged 12.1 points per game. He has a career three-point shooting percentage of 36.8%. This season, Edwards averaged 17.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, earning him the Sun Belt Player of the Year award.

Luke Chaney, a reporter for 247Sports, reported that the Wisconsin basketball team was one of the teams reaching out to Edwards Jr.

If the Wisconsin basketball team doesn’t end up getting AJ Storr back, they’ll need to find someone to make up that production. I’m not convinced that that player is currently on the roster. A solution for the Badgers could be Frankie Fidler from the University of Omaha (20.1 ppg). The 6-7 wing is a former high school teammate of Chucky Hepburn and can fill up the box score.

If they can’t reel Fidler in, Terrence Edwards Jr. could be a nice option for the Badgers. He does a good job of getting to the rim as 42.7% of his shots were at the rim, converting 51.2% of his shots this season, per HoopMath. Only 18.3% of his shots there were assisted, so in other words, he can take defenders off the dribble effectively to get to the rim.

His free throw efficiency would also be a big bonus for the Badgers. He shot a solid 81% from the line this past season.

In the new world of college athletics with a transfer portal that is essentially free agency for players every year, you need to be active in the portal. The Wisconsin basketball team continues to be a name attached to multiple players in the portal. Whether they can get them to come to Madison remains to be seen, but you like to see them get involved.
